    More than 33 years in Technology with the 360-degree experience of having been a user/buyer executive, an Analyst and advisor with Gartner for eight years, followed by P&L Business Leadership roles at Tier-1 global Software Services firms.

    • Software Service Delivery and Operations as well as Location Strategies.

    With a long history of working with Communication Service Providers (CSPs), Media, Entertainment, Broadcast and Information Services providers, he has advised and executed their Technology Modernisation, Datacentre/Cloud Migration, Customer Management and Enterprise Systems consolidation strategies. In the past five years, the technology focus has been on 4G/5G migration, Private Mobile Networks (PMN), Enterprise Sales Improvement Strategies(operations and business) as well as Consumer Operations working with Heads of Business. Launched one of the industry’s early IoT products for Logistics, Utility, as well as FMCG and, most recently, Oil & Gas industries.

     

    Closely worked with leading CSPs including BT, Alcatel-Lucent (as their lead Gartner Advisor) as well as Vodafone, Telenor, Orange Business Services and many more with an emphasis on Enterprise IT services. Authored more than 50 Gartner Research reports including MQs, Hypecycles, MarketScopes. Have also spoken at industry conferences including Gartner Symposia and Summits worldwide.

     

    Before working at Gartner, Mr. Shankar was Deputy CIO instrumental in designing and executing a $100m+ outsourcing programme for a major CSP. After his 8-year stint at Gartner, he launched and led global business teams for HCL Technologies, Cognizant and Wipro spearheading business growth worth more than $4 Billion in aggregate and delivering Cost and Revenue Optimisations, Product Engineering and Go-to-market success.
