Valdis has more than 35 years of experience as an IT technology expert and a former position of Senior Research Director at Gartner, Inc. While at Gartner he played a key role in the development and progress of a number of markets and practices, Flash Arrays, Enterprise/midrange Storage arrays, Integrated Systems, Software Defined Storage and Storage Management.
Prior to Gartner, he worked for the UK Government and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Previous to joining Gartner he was at Sun Microsystems in a variety of roles, from EMEA Storage Architect to being responsible for the Storage business and then the high end server business in Northern and Eastern Europe. He architected, designed the largest SAN in the world and the 100km dispersed high availability metro cluster. For 20 years He has worked all across Europe and the Middle East from Russia to Portugal to Dubai and North America. He has been in many different IT positions with deep technical expertise, team management to business management, purchasing and strategic planning. He can help vendors position their products, prioritize and communicate their value propositions in the IT market.
Before and while at Gartner, Valdis published many papers and presented in many global conferences, kick-offs, product launches, workshops, videos, and personalized client consultations.
